  • Djibouti taxis and car rental

Green Taxis are plentiful in Djibouti City, Dikhil, Ali-Sabieh, Arta, and Doraleh. They are mostly used for transportation between the airport and downtown, as well as for sightseeing.

There are a number of car hire agencies in Djibouti City and most also recommend hiring a driver. Djibouti’s roads are in good condition especially in the main city and between towns. Off road excursions into the interior of Djibouti are possible with a 4WD and a guide.

  • Djibouti water taxis

Daily ferry services are available to and from the towns of Obock, Tadjourah and Djibouti City. Boat transfers from the Djibouti Port to the nearby Moucha Islands take about 30 to 45 minutes. International ferries to Yemen and main ports in Eastern Africa are also available.
